Her Home

For my mother, Crystal

A place to pour out all her love and care
Upon all she welcomes and brings inside
To feed you until your belly is full
A joyous embrace to rest and reside

A home warm with firelight and laughter
Safe from the worry and stress of today
All who leave her have a spring in their step
Bearing her hopes and prayers through the doorway

Sacred abode, dwelling place, house, and hearth
She takes time to tend and clean when able
And to make room in her heart and her home
For one more pair of feet under the table
